Q: CAN acid reflux be avoided with diet? If yes, what are the foods or drinks that I need to avoid? - Zulkifli, Batu Pahat

FARAH DIBA: To totally avoid acid reflux through diet is not fully guaranteed. One might need over-the-counter or prescribed antacid preparations along with the diet for treatment. Foods to avoid are fried foods, fatty meats, caffeine drinks, cocoa, onions, garlic and some citrus fruits.
