MASS circumcision has long been a practice for Muslim boys but in a recent event in Bentong, Pahang, Chinese boys participated in the activity, reported China Press.
It said 12 Chinese boys including a four-year-old participated in the event which was witnessed by Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai.
Liow said the circumcision was not for religious reasons, but rather health purposes.
Shen Yu You who brought his 10-year-old son to be circumcised said the process was safe if a doctor carried out the procedure.
Zhang Sheng Mei said she decided to let her 10-year-old son be circumcised at the event because of health reasons, adding that her husband also underwent the procedure 10 years ago.
