In a media release today the Ministry of Health confirmed that it has served quarantine orders to 82 people who have had close contact with the five confirmed H1N1 cases in Singapore.
All of the five were reported to have mild symptoms and are doing well. Three have been discharged today. Their close contacts were also reported to be well and were given the medication Tamiflu.
The three patients discharged today were the second, third and fourth to have contacted the H1N1 virus. MOH reports that they are not on medical leave at home.
MOH has also accounted for all of the close contacts of these three cases, amounting to a total of 131 contacts comprising 121 flight passengers and 10 local contacts.
The Ministry also said in the media statement that contact tracing is still on-going for the fifth confirmed H1N1 case, involving a 22-year-old Singaporean woman who travelled to the US from from 13 to 28 May.
Five of the woman's family members and 15 flight passengers have so far been identified by the Ministry, and of these nine have been given quarantine orders.
The MOH said in its release that it will continue to monitor the situation and update the public on any developments.
