Medisave use for chronic illness rises

THE NUMBER of people who used Medisave to get their chronic illnesses managed jumped five times over the last two years, revealed a study conducted by the health ministry.

There were 98,901 people on the Chronic Disease Management Programme at the end of last year, compared to 20,092 at the end of 2006.

Patients on the programme showed a general improvement in their diabetic, cholesterol and blood pressure indicators.
