RIVERLIFE CHURCH
Child and youth activities halted; other churches taking precautions

By Ang Yiying

ALMOST all of the members of Riverlife Church in Loyang who have contacted the Influenza A (H1N1) virus attended a youth service held on June 13.

About 330 people, mostly youth of secondary school to junior college-going age as well as several youth leaders, were part of that service.

The church received confirmation of its first two H1N1 cases last Friday and has since suspended all its child and youth-related programmes, affecting about 800 of its members, said Riverlife management staff member Sarah Leung.

FISHERMEN OF CHRIST CHURCH
10 members who attended camp infected

THE biggest cluster of locally infected Influenza A (H1N1) cases was identified yesterday at the Fishermen of Christ Church, with 10 church members confirmed to have the virus.

All 10 had attended a church camp at the Prince George's Park within the National University of Singapore campus from June 15 to June 18.

The first student fell ill on the morning of the last day of the camp. The 22-year-old woman's father picked her up and drove her home when the camp ended in the afternoon.

BUTTER FACTORY
Nightspot to reopen after 12-hour scrub

By Ang Yiying

IT WILL be business as usual at the Butter Factory at One Fullerton when it reopens tomorrow after its usual break from Sundays to Tuesdays.

The club - identified as a cluster with five H1N1 cases linked to it as of yesterday - said a full-scale disinfection lasting 12 hours will be carried out today.

Three of the cases were originally classified as a National University of Singapore cluster as they were all students there.
