NANYANG Polytechnic has confirmed its first case of the H1N1 influenza virus, a statement from the institution said on Friday.

The infected student had contracted the flu outside the campus from her boyfriend, who works at the Butter Factory, one of the local clusters in Singapore.

NYP said that she was in contact with 9 other students, who have been instructed to take leave of absence from school and to monitor their health. It also said that they were in constant communication with NYP staff.
