Starting Monday, teachers and students with a travel history to H1N1-affected places will not be asked to take a leave of absence.
This is because the spread of H1N1 is now present in the local community, said the Ministry of Education in a press statement.
Those currently serving leave of absence will be duly informed to return to school next week.
Tertiary students will return to school on Monday and primary and secondary school students will do so on Tuesday as Monday is a school holiday.
However, schools will still continue to keep up H1N1 precautionary measures - temperature taking and checks to identify those with influenza-like illness will continue.
Staff and students who are unwell will be asked to seek medical attention and to rest at home.
