The new strain of influenza claimed the 15th fatality, a 63-year-old woman in Samut Prakarn who had heart disease.
The woman succumbed to the flu after being admitted to a hospital in Samut Prakarn.
The 14th fatality was a Mor 5 student who died in a Khon Kaen hospital.
The student of Maha Sarakam province came to Bangkok recently to attend an examination and developed high fever. The student then was admitted to the Khon Kaen hospital and succumbed the flu.
The 13th victim was a 45-year-old man which had high fever for five days before being sent to a Bangkok hospital on July 6. He died Thursday.
A traffic police also died earlier on Thursday from the new strain of influenza.
The police whose name was not revealed was traffic police of Bang Na police station.
He succumbed to the flu on Thursday after being admitted to Police Hospital. He had also suffered from complication of kidney failure.
Thai Public Health Ministry on Thursday reported 211 new cases of the flu, bringing number of the cases in the country to 2,725.45.
