A TWO-HEADED male infant has been born with a single, undivided body in Indonesia, reported Malaysian news agency Bernama.
When news of the baby's birth broke, locals packed the hospital, eager for the chance to catch a glimpse of the baby.
The infant - who was delivered by a caesarean birth - also has a body with two arms, two legs, one pair of kidneys, one pair of lungs and one anus.
Doctors are trying to determine if the baby has two hearts. If there is only one heart, it will be impossible for it to survive, reported Jakarta Globe.
Also, the baby - recognised as siamese twins - cannot be separated medically, said Dr Rasul Alim M, director of the Puri Husada Hospital in Indonesia.
However, special medical teams have been mobilised to ensure that the infant - who is currently in good health - receives the best care possible.
This is not the first time that a two-headed birth has been reported in Indonesia.
In 2006, a pair of conjoined female siamese twins was born with two spines and one set of internal organs.
