SEOUL - South Korea's swine flu death toll has passed the 100 mark as 22 more people were last week confirmed as having died from the (A)H1N1 virus, health authorities said Wednesday.
The Korea Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said the new deaths were classified as swine flu-related, bringing the total death toll from the virus to 104.
It stressed, however, the spread of the disease had been waning.
The death toll reached its peak at the end of last month when 25 people died between October 25-31.
The outbreak forced more than 400 schools nationwide to close in the first week of November. Most have since re-opened.
