A GROUP of con men in Kuala Lumpur are advertising "organ transplant" operations, which would take just 10 minutes and cost as low as RM150.
According to Metro Ahad, a centre from which these men operated from had seen many visits from members of the public eager for a miracle cure.
In an investigative report, the tabloid found that many of the surgical procedures were allegedly done on "patients" with only a razor after they were injected with a grey liquid claimed to be anaesthetic.
One of the victims of the scam, Hamzah, 40, said that during his visit to the centre in Rawang, a doctor told him that that he would receive a new kidney from a Myanmar donor.
Hamzah said he saw the doctor cut out a lump from his body but he did not experience any pain. The procedure only took 20 minutes.
But when his health did not improve, he realised he had been conned.
