Popular artiste Dongfang Billy, who is battling a relapse of leukaemia, now wears adult diapers.

He revealed that his body is now very weak, and he often suffers from diarrhoea, so doctors have advised him to wear them as a precaution. Billy stressed, however, that he has yet to lose control of his bowel movements, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Because of his body condition, he also tries to wear filter masks as much as he can when going out, reported Shin Min Daily News.

Billy was speaking at a press conference for the launch of the Lien Foundation's "Die-logues" documentary - part of its Life before Death campaign. Billy will be the host for the documentary, which will address the topic of dying well and feature stories from those going through end-of-life issues.

Right now, Billy has to return to Taiwan each week to get an injection as part of an experimental treatment, but he is unwilling to give up his filming and fitness instruction work in Singapore. The reason is that teaching fitness classes will force him to exercise and help him recover faster from his illness, reported Shin Min.

Billy said he is not considering a bone marrow transplant at the moment as it would affect his motivation to continue with his injection treatment.

It is through the effects on his body that the effectiveness of the experimental treatment would be known, said Billy.
